Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Tanzania (Baylor Tanzania) is a leader in pediatric healthcare, addressing HIV/AIDS, TB, malnutrition, and cancer to improve health outcomes for children, adolescents, and families across Tanzania. As part of the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) and in partnership with Bugando Medical Centre in Mwanza and Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital, Baylor Tanzania operates two Centers of Excellence offering multidisciplinary, family-centered care.

To ensure sustainability, Baylor Tanzania focuses on capacity building, mentoring 1,496 healthcare workers, training 178 national and regional trainers, and using innovative e-learning platforms like ECHO hubs. Transitioning donor-supported programs to local management, the organization continues to strengthen Tanzania’s health systems while driving innovation, community outreach, and sustainable pediatric care.
